Lady Gaga Wonders Why Critics Don’t Attack Adele Over Being Chubby

In a recent interview, Lady Gaga opened up about the media’s reaction to recent weight gain, but appeared to point the finger at Adele for being overweight.

Gaga, who was inspired to create a movement called “Body Revolution” to promote loving your body no matter your size, spoke to Stylist UK about the media’s obsession with women’s weight.

The outlandish singer stated, “When I heard [her weight gain] was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election—I just thought, ‘This is f—king ridiculous.’ I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home?”

“I thought, Well, I don’t really care if they think I’m fat,’ because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds,” the Born This Way singer added.

“Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She’s so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women. I need to be a confident woman and just say politically active things when I can that are helpful to young people.”

Of course, Lady Gaga’s statement is far from true. Adele has been criticized over the years about her larger size.

Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld called Adele “too fat” and has given several interviews about her weight and being happy in the body she was given.

But Gaga also complimented the British singer, saying, “She’s so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women. I need to be a confident woman and just say politically active things when I can that are helpful to young people.”

Lady Gaga attempts to inspire her fans with having a health body image, but isn’t the best role model when it comes to drug use.

Gaga recently even went as “Princess High the Cannabis Queen” for Halloween. The singer was very scantily-clad in a marijuana plant outfit.
