From Singapore to North Korea, Asia's hotel scene is getting a fresh new look

According to the Construction Pipeline Report released in November 2012 by hotel research firm STR Global, 1,767 hotels are currently under development in the Asia-Pacific region, with 667 hotels expected to open in 2013.
That's a lot of beds.
More than half of the hotels in property empire Starwood's development books have Asian addresses, while other big names like Accor, InterContinental Hotels and Hilton Worldwide, are also aggressively expanding in the East. So are smaller regional boutique brands.
