Celeb Solution: No More Muffin Top!

tights1_wide.jpg
Everyone has encountered the dreaded muffin top (including celebrities!), especially when wearing tights with tiny waistbands. Fear not, we have a solution! Milk & Honey, a brand that lets us (and stars like Kate Middleton, Ginnifer Goodwin and Emily Deschanel) design their own shoes, has launched a line of soft tights perfectly named No More Muffin Top Tights.

What makes the No More Muffin Top Tights different from other tights is their waistband, which is seamless and lays flat against your midsection rather than leaving indentations in your waist that other tights leave. What you are left with is a smooth figure under any garment. No matter who you are, celebrity or not, we think everyone will be grateful for a life without muffin tops!

Taylor Swift and Tim Tebow: Spotted at Dinner!!!

This pairing almost makes too much sense, doesn't it?

Witnesses tell The New York Post that Tim Tebow and Taylor Swift struck up a conversation at a pre-Academy Awards party on Friday night, following it up with dinner two evenings later at at Toscanova Italian restaurant in Century City.

"After dinner, he walked her out," a source says. "Then he walked back in to join two other people. I think they may both have been with their agents."

Taylor Swift at Lorax PremiereTim Tebow Photograph

Granted, the meal doesn't sound too romantic, but Taylor has been burned by so many men in her past. Tebow is a virgin, had the good sense to reject Kim Kardashian and might be the son of God.

This couple has to happen.

HGTV, LA and Dining Room Tables

I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.

When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."

B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.

I hated her.

Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.

WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?

Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?

Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.

I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

With a Little Luck: A Novel

My good friend Caprice Crane's new book, With a Little Luck, is out today. Yay, Caprice!

It's gotten great reviews:

"Crane is one of the funniest writers of popular fiction around. The dialog (inner and outer) is laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing hilarious . . . Readers will want to cross their fingers and spit while throwing salt over their shoulders if it helps Berry reach her dreams. Highly recommended."

Library Journal

"Fans of Stacy Ballis and Cara Lockwood will appreciate Crane's effortlessly funny style, which is often attempted in popular fiction but is rarely this well executed...Lighthearted and charmingly honest."

—Booklist

"[A] satisfying romantic comedy...[with] real character growth."

—Kirkus Reviews

And even better blurbs:

"Romantic, poignant and funny—this book is a lucky find for lit fans. Caprice Crane is a nimble and gifted storyteller."

—Diablo Cody, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Juno

"A hilarious romp that oozes charm and giddy fun. Caprice Crane is a true talent."

—Molly Jong-Fast, author of The Social Climber's Handbook

"Witty, fast-paced, and sheer fun. Caprice Crane is a master of dialogue. Half the time I was reading this book I was smiling, which made me look like a crazy person on the subway."

—Jancee Dunn, author of Don’t You Forget About Me and Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo?

"Absolutely charming and hilarious."

—Missy Peregrym, star of the movie Stick It and ABC's Rookie Blue

"With a Little Luck scores in humor, head, and heart. In other words, it’s a perfect trifecta."

—Karyn Bosnak, author of 20 Times a Lady (soon to be the major motion picture What's Your Number?)

(Omg, who is that last fantastic blurber?) (I meant every word of it.)

And most importantly, she has the cutest dog ever (who likes to video chat with Bev):

Anyway, check it out, buy it—it's fantastic!

Oscars 2012 Ratings Up From Last Year

Ratings for Sunday night's telecast up 4 percent over 2011's show.
By Gil Kaufman

Sometimes "meh" is all you need — especially when you're following up one of the most reviled Oscar hosting teams in recent memory.

That might explain why, despite a night devoid of any major surprises or blockbuster winners, ratings for the 2012 Oscars telecast were up slightly over last year.

According to ABC's preliminary ratings, the Billy Crystal-hosted awards show had a 25.5 rating and 37 share, a 4 percent increase over the 2011 show, which famously bombed thanks to the lack of chemistry between hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Crystal's safe-as-milk ninth go-round as host earned the veteran comedian mostly tepid to negative reviews, but it was enough to boost the big night to one of its best ratings nights since 2007, when the show put up a 27.7 rating and 42 share.

The highest-ever Oscar ratings came in 1998, when the global blockbuster "Titanic" helped draw in more than 55 million viewers.

Ratings might have been even higher if any of the most-nominated movies had posted solid box-office figures as well. But between them, the leading winners, "The Artist" and "Hugo," which both reveled in a nostalgic look back at the dawn of the modern movie era, have grossed just over $100 million combined to date. To put that in perspective, popcorn flick "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," which was blanked in three technical categories, brought in nearly that much in its opening weekend.

More complete ratings numbers are expected later in the day on Monday (February 27).

The MTV Movies team has the 2012 Oscars covered! Keep it locked at MTV.com for updates on the night's big winners and the best red-carpet fashion.

Joan Rivers Mocks, Poses Like Angelina Jolie on Fashion Police

At least this time, she didn't liken her to Auschwitz inhabitants.

Joan Rivers continues to mock Angelina Jolie's one-leg pose Oscars, strapping on a fake leg and going to town on the actress last night on E's Fashion Police.

Having already bashed Jolie at length, Rivers commented on the now-infamous pose again last night, calling it rehearsed, ridiculous and possibly even fake.

She even threw on a prosthetic limb to mock Ange and make her point.

She keeps things interesting, that's for sure. Watch Joan do her thing as the phenomenon that is Angelina leg continues to take over the entertainment world:

Oscars 2012: Winners And Losers

From Emma Stone to Angelina Jolie's right leg, MTV News relives the best and worst of Sunday night's show.
By Eric Ditzian

Emma Stone arrives at the 84th annual Academy Awards
Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic

The winners of the 2012 Oscars have already been announced. Those lucky men and women have already gone off, gleaming statuettes in hand, to jump from celeb-filled party to celeb-filled party and learn how to carry a champagne glass in one hand and an Academy Award in the other without spilling the former and breaking the latter.

But the official winners' list only tells part of the story of Sunday night's show. There were nipples that might have slipped, legs that poked bizarrely out and an ash-filled urn malfunction on the red carpet. There were front-runners who fell short and dark horses who pulled out unexpected victories. Who were the true winners and losers at the Oscars this year? Let's take a look...

Winner: Billy Crystal
Hauled out from some cryogenic awards-show freezer where time does not pass and wrinkles are not allowed to crease one's face, Crystal emerged onto the Oscar stage for the ninth time ... and didn't make us fall asleep. Much to our surprise, he was consistently funny (and at times, shockingly and thankfully, a tad mean), and delivered a bunch of LOL-worthy video bits.

Loser: Anne Hathaway and James Franco
Remember when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences thought it needed to get all edgy, recruiting two hot young things to helm the biggest night in Hollywood? Hollywood, in turn, hated them. The ghosts of Hathaway and Franco's phoned-in performances could be seen every time Crystal belted out a parody tune or a Borscht Belt zinger to the sustained guffaws of his audience.

Winner: Jennifer Lopez's nipple
It was the singer's most talked-about release in at least a decade. And it may not have actually, ya know, been released from beneath her dress.

Loser: Angelina Jolie's right leg
'Cause, seriously, that was just weird.

Winner: The screenwriter who made fun of Angelina Jolie's right leg
After the "Descendants" won Best Adapted Screenplay, Jim Rash (who also happens to be a series regular on "Community") took to the stage and thrust his leg out in silent, searing mockery of Jolie's prominently displayed body part.

Winner: Emma Stone
She can sing, she can bust into an awesome old-timey voice, she can make fun of Ben Stiller and he'll just take it. The evening was filled with surprisingly funny presenters, but Stone's shtick won the night. Casting directors, listen up: Get that girl a big-screen musical stat!

Winner: Octavia Spencer
Long an awards-season darling, "The Help" ended up only nabbing a single Oscar. Best Supporting Actress winner Spencer made the best of the opportunity, breaking down in tears during a heartfelt acceptance speech in which she thanked everyone from her castmates to the state of Alabama.

Loser: Meryl Streep
Though she won Best Actress — which, according to our estimates, was the 37th Oscar win of her career — even Streep herself appeared sheepish to have swiped the category away from front-runner Viola Davis.

Winner: Sacha Baron Cohen
Handed the gift of a temporary ban from the Academy because he planned to walk the red carpet as his character from "The Dictator," Baron Cohen played the PR war game perfectly, releasing an amusing YouTube video before the show and then, after the Academy relented, spilling the faux-ashes of Kim Jong Il on Ryan Seacrest during a red-carpet interview.

Loser: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
The academy not only proved it had no sense of humor when it banned Baron Cohen, but showed it had no spine when it reinstated him and ended up posting his image on the front page of its Oscar website.

Loser: Michael Douglas
While it was great to see Douglas out on stage and looking so healthy after his battle with cancer, everyone was disappointed that his dad wasn't the one standing in front of the cameras. Then 94-year-old Kirk Douglas' show-stealing intro at last year's Oscars was bizarre and uncomfortable and kinda amazing.

Winner: Zach Galifianakis' inability to pronounce Zach Galifianakis' name
The white tux-clad presenter, perhaps reaching out to Michel Hazanavicius, his brother in unpronounceable surnames, butchered his own family name in the middle of a memorable bit with Will Ferrell.

Winner: The women of "Bridesmaids"
They may not have won an award, but their continuing bit about a Martin Scorsese drinking game was hilarious. And the fact that they were able to bring some humor to the shorts categories — comparing them to the male anatomy — was an impressive feat.

Loser: Bradley Cooper's mustache
Cooper might be the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, but his lip fuzz stood out as the night's creepiest collection of facial hair.

Loser: Bubba Smith
Every year, a handful of beloved actors are left off Oscar's "In Memoriam" montage. In 2012, poor Bubba Smith, who memorably played Hightower in the "Police Academy" movies and who passed away in August at the age of 66, didn't make the cut.

Who do you think were the biggest winners and losers of the night? Leave your comment below!

Ben Flajnik on Lindzi Cox: So In Love!!

Despite Nicki's and Kacie B.'s best efforts on last night's episode, Courtney Robertson won a spot on The Bachelor season finale alongside Lindzi Cox.

Who will he propose to March 12, Lindzi or Courtney? Does the former have any chance against the Black Widow, or is she destined for heartbreak?

The Bachelor spoilers page on THG has all the latest on that subject, but judging by comments Ben himself made in his weekly blog, it's a toss-up.

The rose-giver told People the following:

Lindzi Cox and Ben Flajnik

On Lindzi: "She is always up for anything, and that is a really attractive quality. Speaking of attractive, sometimes I'm awestruck when looking at Lindzi."

"I find her to be so beautiful, even when I put her in a helmet and harness and dangle her from a rope. Lindzi also started to open up to me even more."

"I know it's hard for her and she likes to go for the joke before the serious moment, but I also want to be married to someone who I can have those serious discussions with and a woman who will tell me how she really feels."

"The last few weeks, Lindzi has been doing that."

"For the first time, I truly feel I am in love with this woman and was looking forward to dinner and seeing if she was feeling the same way."

"Again, Lindzi surprised me with her openness and honesty, and I began to feel more for her in that moment than I ever had before."

On Courtney: "I love her silliness and quirkiness, but I want to see an emotional side too, and this came just in time. I was excited to see how our relationship develop even more."

"I light up every time I am around Courtney."

"We had a lot of natural, easy-going fun, and I realized how many things we have in common when it comes to things like traveling, food and music."

"But I still couldn't stop thinking about the other women's warnings. I felt like she deflected any of the blame, and it was starting to really bother me that she didn't see her role in any of the drama amongst the women."

"The dinner conversation we had was exactly what I needed to hear. I was really relieved to hear Courtney admit that she could have tried harder."

"I know they were sometimes mean to her, too, but I needed to hear her say she could have done things differently and gotten much better results."

"I have tried this entire journey to be patient and more forgiving. Courtney was worth the patience and I was happy to feel like she turned a big corner."

Well? Who should Ben choose, Lindzi or Courtney?

The Bachelorette’s J.P. On Courtney: “I Hope Ben Can See Who She Really Is!”

JR1_wide.jpg
Not just her fellow Bachelor contestants have it out for Courtney Robertson! Last season’s Bachelorette winner, J.P. Rosenbaum, isn’t exactly rooting for the manipulative model to win the final rose from his close friend, Ben Flajnik. “Courtney is, um, eccentric,” the construction manager, happily engaged to former Bachelorette Ashley Hebert, told In Touch at the Junk Food Art House x MONOPOLY "Money Can't Buy Happiness" runway show in New York. “I’m just hoping that Ben can see who she really is, and see through it.”

While Ben chooses his girl, J.P. is now focusing on finalizing wedding plans with his fiancé, pediatric dental resident Ashley. “Now that Ashley's dental school is behind her, we can really start thinking about the wedding,” J.P. says, adding that the couple plans to make an announcement on nuptial details within the next few months. “We have serious things to work out!”

But before the lovebirds walk down the aisle, J.P. strut down the catwalk in clothing by Junk Food Art House in front of the star-studded show. “On my life, and you can ask Ashley, I had no practice whatsoever!” first-time model J.P laughed. “But I didn’t have time to be nervous. It went by in a split second.”

For more on Ben Flajnik’s love triangle with finalists Courtney and Lindzi Cox, pick up the new In Touch.

Jesse Csincsak Recaps Bachelor Hometown Visits

jessrecap1_wide.jpg
I always like watching the show from this point on because this is when the show really starts in my opinion! The contestants haven't seen their families since the show started so it's always cool to see them reunite!

Lindzi
This girl seems to be the whole package: down to earth, fun, easy going and she is cute! Her parents are rad! They are super fun; who wouldn't want to have in-laws like them? She won't have any issue meeting a guy after this season!

Kasey B.
I have liked Kasey and Lidzi since day one. I agree with Kasey's dad being skeptical of the process. What dad wouldn't be when four girls are dating this guy? But Kacey's parents had a strong opinion regarding the possibility of the two living together; it's 2012 not 1950... Sorry no one wants their in-laws telling them how to live their life.

Nicki
I think Nicki is a super sweet girl but I just don't see her with Ben in the end. That date reminded me of the movie Fools rush in. Ben was a city guy in a cowboy hat out of his element!

Courtney
This was probably the fakest most produced hometown date I have seen in a long time! Courtney's dad says that marriage is a gamble and ten seconds later says that he wants some grandkids. As for the wedding ceremony, that was a total cut and paste from Ashley Hebert's season.

Next week Ben will leave his comfort zone again when he travels to Switzerland. Oh and we also will get to see a preview for Emily Maynard's upcoming season.

Make sure to tune into the Reality Smackdown on RTVZone.com at 6 PST! See u there.

'Star Trek 2' Cast 'Welcoming' To Benedict Cumberbatch

'It's a great thing to come into something that everybody's familiar with and knows each other very well,' new addition tells MTV News.
By Kara Warner

Benedict Cumberbatch
Photo: MTV News

With all the hullabaloo caused by the recently leaked photos from the "Star Trek 2" set, people are getting a wee bit distracted from the bigger picture surrounding the film: They're actually making the sequel, people! Let's be content with that happy news and the fact that all our favorite castmembers from the first film have returned, as well as a few very welcome additions, chief among them current actor-in-everything Benedict Cumberbatch.

MTV News recently caught up with the "Sherlock," "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" and "War Horse" actor to find out how things are going on set and his thoughts about his castmates' very high praise for how the British actor has elevated their collective game.

"Well, it's very sweet to say," Cumberbatch told us at Elton John's Oscar viewing party in regards to Chris Pine's compliments. "I actually did a year at drama school, so I'm not that trained; I'm not that classical, but I'm flattered. I think they are brilliant on that show, and it's a real privilege to be on that set. There's a patter and a kind of knowledge of who they're playing and the other main characters, which I'm learning a lot from. It's just good fun. It's great to work with Chris. He's very professional. So is Zach [Quinto], who I've been working a lot with; I adore him, he's a brilliant, brilliant guy.

"I'm kinda getting busy with the film now," Cumberbatch teased of his villainous character's actions in and around deep space. "I've been away doing other things — 'The Hobbit,' which was fantastic. And so my part of the film is really sorta kicking in now. It's great fun, great, great fun. But what I'm trying to say is it's a great thing to come into something that everybody's familiar with and knows each other very well. So it's [in] a weird way a very easy thing to get up to speed with, because everybody is so welcoming and gets along with one another."

Check out everything we've got on "Star Trek 2."

China's next big travel trend: U.S. TV show tours

by CNNGo staff

Now that the U.S. government has started streamlining the visa process for Chinese travelers, China's fast-growing tourism market has spotted a new way to zip about the United States: travel with fewer people but more focus.

One Shanghai-based travel agency recently launched a "U.S. TV show tour" on its website, grabbing the attention of Chinese netizens and U.S. TV series addicts.

TV shows: travelers' window to the U.S.

The 10-day cross-country tour is organized by Yi Xiang Consultancy (逸香高端定制), a travel agency specializing in high-end customized outbound trips, and is scheduled to take off on April 2.

Priced at RMB 19,800 (US$3,143), the 20-strong group is set to touch down in Los Angeles, where they can do V-sign poses in and around the Nokia Theater (where the 2011 Emmy Awards were presented), take in the Grammy Museum and swing by a certain TV set to catch the crew in action (Yi Xiang has yet to reveal the name of the TV show).

The group will then head to Las Vegas for the crime lab in "CSI," which wil be followed by a visit to San Francisco's Alcatraz Island.

Jennifer Lopez Stylist on Revealing Oscar Dress: No Nip Slips Here!

J. Lo? More like J WHOA!

That was the reaction many Oscar viewers had last night when they watched Jennifer Lopez saunter out to the stage and stand alongside Gwyneth Paltrow to present... the awards for something.

We can't exactly remember, considering the distraction of Lopez's cleavage, as demonstrated both by her Academy Awards dress (left) and the gown she donned at the Vanity Fair post-party (right).

Now, Mariel Haenn - the stylist for this American Idol judge - has come out and tried to silence talk that his client exposed her nipples to an audience of millions.

"The Oscar dress was custom made for JLo...The dress fit perfectly to her every inch," Haenn Tweeted. "There were cups built in and in NO chance that there were any, how do you say? 'slips.'...jokes on everyone who thought they saw something."

J. Lo, of course, is no stranger to creating headlines for her fashion taste. Remember this catsuit on New Year's Eve 2009?
