Good news -- the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2013 will be featuring 145 electrifying performances in the coming month.
Bad news -- 85 percent of all seats sold out before the opening of the festival.
Hosting programs from Cantonese opera to ballet to classical music, Hong Kong Arts Festival, one of the major arts festivals in Hong Kong, opened this week.
More than 103,000 tickets have already been sold.
Only a handful of tickets remain for the highly anticipated performance of "Romeo and Juliet" by the American Ballet Theatre.
But there are great shows with tickets available.

Orphan of the Zhao Family
Yau Ma Tei Theatre will feature four Cantonese operas, including “Orphan of the Zhao Family,” a 13th-century tale of tragedy.
As interesting as the endangered Cantonese art of opera is the 83-year-old venue itself; the only pre-World War II cinema in Hong Kong, it reopened last year after renovations.

Hand Stories
Concubines, warriors, tigers, dragons -- the most popular elements of Chinese folk tales are featured in an hour-long show of traditional Chinese glove puppetry.
Yeung Fai, a fifth-generation puppeteer, joins hands with French puppeteer Yoann Pencolé to tell stories of a fast-changing China and his own journey to flee from China to the West.

The Britten 100 Project
A concert to celebrate English composer Benjamin Britten’s (1913-1976) 100th birthday will be held in Nan Lian Garden, part of the Chi Lin Nunnery.
Different concerts will feature various pieces -- "Serenade for Tenor" and "The Company of Heaven," for first day examples.
You can book a table for a great vegetarian meal in Chi Lin Nunnery before attending the show.

The Reef
The Australian Chamber Orchestra arrives in town to throw a live concert to accompany the Asian premiere of the film, "The Reef."
Attendees will see amazing surf stunts and beautiful views of the Ningaloo Reef in western Australia.
