Beyonce Cast As Queen Tara In 3-D Animated Film 'Epic'

For a while now, folks have been referring to Beyoncé as a queen ... but now, she's going to make it official. On the big screen.

According to Deadline.com, Beyoncé has been cast as Queen Tara in the upcoming 3-D, CGI-animated film "Epic," a 20th Century Fox film from the makers of the hits "Ice Age" and "Rio."

The film reportedly tells the tale of a teenage girl transported to a secret universe, where she finds herself dropped square in the middle of a battle between the forces of good and evil. She joins forces with "a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters" to save the world. "Epic" is slated to hit theaters on May 24, 2013.

It's the first confirmed role for Beyoncé since she took time off for maternity leave, though she's also slated to star in the Clint Eastwood-directed remake of "A Star Is Born."

Starring alongside Bey in the movie are the likes of Colin Farrell, Amanda Seyfried, Aziz Ansari and a pair of her fellow musicians, Pitbull and Aerosmith frontman/"American Idol" judge Steven Tyler. Johnny Knoxville, Jason Sudeikis and Judah Friedlander round out the cast.

Josh Hutcherson is also set to appear alongside Beyoncé in the film. He's currently riding high off the massive success of "Hunger Games," which is tied with "Bridesmaids" for the most nominations at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, which will air Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

Chinese travelers ditch the Philippines, re-route to Bali, Phuket and Jeju

Chinese travelers go bananas for tropical islands, but Beijing has suspended all group tours to the Philippines amid an ongoing sovereignty wrangle over an island in the South China Sea. 

Disappointed Chinese tourists, who had planned to visit the archipelago, are turning to Bali, Phuket and Jeju in the wake of the diplomatic spat over Scarborough Shoal, or Huangyan Island (黄岩岛).

The three islands in Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea respectively, have seen “a noticeable increase of visitors from China recently,” reported Shanghai Daily.

“Explosive” demand

According to Beijing Youth Daily (in simplified Chinese only), destinations such as Phuket, Bali, Jeju and the Maldives are facing an “explosive” demand in the Chinese capital right now.

Introducing a new guy to the man of the house can be super stressful for any teen girl, but it’s a whole new level of horror when your dad is Dirty Harry himself, Clint Eastwood.

The stars of E!’s new reality show, Mrs. Eastwood & Company, Francesca, 19, and Morgan, 15, open up in the new issue In Touch — on newsstands now — about what it’s like having the larger-than-life icon, 82, as their father.

“My guy friends have seen his movies and they’re all scared!” Morgan tells In Touch, adding that her outspoken mother, Dina, is even more frightening to her pals.

“My dad’s not like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna get my gun!’ It’s actually my mom who’s more protective.” Francesca, who dates photographer Tyler Shields, insists their father is more teddy bear than tough guy.

“My dad’s intimidating at first, but now he’s really nice to my boyfriend,” she says. “They’re both guys’ guys, who talk about stuff like helicopters, planes and weapons.”

Jenelle Evans just got engaged to Gary Head, and already, rumors are flying that the Teen Mom terror may expecting a second child she has no interest in.

The Oak Island, N.C., product has "put on 20 lbs. recently," according to a source because she is pregnant with another baby ... supposedly. Allegedly.

Hey, at least she's in a "stable" relationship at this point. Her engagement to Gary Head has already lasted two whole weeks, beating analyst expectations.

Is she actually pregnant though? We doubt it. It's just hearsay.

Still, "she's so irresponsible, it wouldn't surprise me if she's pregnant," says an insider. "But for her to want another child would be crazy, because it doesn't seem to bother her at all that she doesn't have custody of [2-year-old son] Jace."

Who said anything about wanting one?

Anyway, baby or not, Gary is stoked he gets to see Jenelle Evans nude for the rest of his life, or at least until their engagement ends this summer.

"She just broke up with Kieffer [Delp] a week before the engagement and immediately got back with Gary," the insider explains. "Gary is thrilled, because he had asked her to marry him before and she said no. I guess she changed her mind."

Qantas adds million seats on east-coast flights

Air travelers within Australia will have the benefit of greater choice -- and, likely, lower fares -- from this July, thanks to a combined Qantas-Jetstar plan to introduce almost one million new seats on its most important routes.

The national carrier and its budget arm are adding 900,000 seats through extra flights linking east-coast destinations Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane -- the highly competitive so-called golden triangle.

Other destinations are getting a bump too -- Adelaide, Gold Coast, Newcastle and Ballina-Byron will also see more flights.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce spoke of the benefit of increasing choice and lowering prices.

“We know from experience that increasing the number of low fares in these markets will stimulate new travel demand,” he said.

Dina Lohan to Produce Broadway-Based Reality Show

If you were thinking that a reality TV mash-up of NBC's Smash and Disney's High School Musical would be great ... you have odd, specific taste in entertainment.

Dina Lohan apparently agrees with you, though. For reasons unknown, someone signed her to produce an unsold documentary series along those very lines.

Lohan's new project promises to chronicle the real-life journey of launching a Broadway musical from “page to stage,” as well as all the behind-the-scenes drama.

“There is nothing more important to me than a parent standing behind their child and helping them fulfill their dreams,” Dina told Celebuzz, apparently without irony.

Production for the series begins soon and will run through the summer.

It will take the audience "behind the scenes of The White Plains (N.Y.) Performing Arts Center’s theatre company," with producers promising to take the audience "on a roller coaster adventure." We absolutely can not wait.

In other family news, Ali Lohan's too thin and Lindsay is being sued for stiffing a tanning salon out of $40,000. The number of zeroes there is correct.

Thousands of tourists have crowded onto and around San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge to celebrate the iconic structure's 75th birthday.

Crowds partied across its three-kilometer length, boats cruised on the water below and a finale of fireworks lit up the San Franciscan sky. 

It took four years to build, costing US$35 million and finally opened in 1937. It has remained one of the engineering world's most famous poster boys since. 

But it's not the only bridge that merits celebration.

Here are 23 others (plus San Fran's Golden Gate) that are worth a look.
