Gallery: Malaysia's best dish is ...

Malaysian food is renowned for its delicious array of cultural and religious influences.

The country’s mix of Malays, Chinese, Indian and more, coupled with its great local produce, has created some mouthwatering cuisine.

CNN Travel recently put together a round-up of 40 of Malaysia's top foods.

Some of you approved wholeheartedly, your stomachs grumbling in enthusiastic agreement. Others felt there were more delicious Malaysian dishes that deserved a place on the list.

So we put together an iReport assignment asking readers to share their own favorite Malaysian dishes

"I simply love how the freshest and most exciting flavors of Asia meld in every Malaysian plate," says iReporter Metamaps, who shared a photo of the nasi lemak he enjoyed while visiting Malaysia's Labuan Island.

iReporter LaCrymaMosa says her one-week trip to Kuala Lumpur back in 2012 was filled with good food.

"This city is simply amazing for any foodie," she says. "I can hardly think of any similar city where foods are so diverse, so good, so authentic and so cheap."

"The wide variety and the spices and chili are fantastic," adds iReporter DavidFullard, who has been traveling Asia since February this year -- and having a great time documenting the food he's been eating along the way.

His iReport submissions included photos of spicy Malay chicken rice, noodles, chili frog and cashew nuts, seafood petai, fried prawn cakes and clay pot chicken rice
