“Dancing With The Stars” All-Star Edition Cast Announced

The “Dancing With the Stars” cast has been revealed for the All Star edition.

This year the 13th contestant on the dancing competition show will be voted on by fans in an online poll.

ABC announced the celebrity competitors at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Friday.

“Dancing” producer Conrad Green compared his new cast to “The Avengers”, a group of superheroes banding together.

The show’s first all-star season is an attempt to gain ratings, which producers hope will be helped by controversial contestant Bristol Palin.

Bristol was asked during a TCA panel why she would subject herself to criticism from the public and press again.

“I just think that God provides opportunities like this,” she said. “The press is going to talk about me no matter what, so I might as well be having fun.”

Caron Kressely is competing with Disney stars Sabrina Bryan and Kyle Massey for a spot on the show. The winner won’t be announced until Aug. 27.

The first All-Star season premieres Sept. 25 on ABC.
