Watch: Showtime Releases The First Video Teaser For ‘Homeland’ Season 2

While all eyes will be watching Showtime this Fall for the season 7 premiere of their long-running and very popular drama Dexter, many eyes will also be watching for the much-anticipated second season of the new series Homeland. I, along with a host of others, fell in love with Homeland when it debuted last year. Based on the Israeli TV series Hatufim, the drama in Homeland is centered around Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis), a former prisoner of war who has been turned by his terrorist captors. The only person who suspects the truth is Carrie Mathison (played by Claire Danes), a lone federal agent with mental problems. It’s a brilliant show. Click below to check out the just-released and very stylized new trailer for Homeland season 2.

The first season of Showtime’s Emmy-nominated, hit drama Homeland was quite the trip into the mind of Claire Danes’ character Carrie Mathison. And season 2 looks to be much the same, as evidenced by the new teaser the cable network just released. It doesn’t feature any footage from the coming season, but the teaser — which shows the Emmy-nominated Danes as dialogue and imagery from the first season engulf her — points heavily toward Mathison’s mental health issues. The second season is supposed to pick up after Mathison has been in the psych ward for about six months, after having gone through a series of shock treatments.

AHHHHH! I’m so excited for the return of this show! From the very first episode, I was taken not only with the premise of the story but by the level of production, the writing and the acting. Claire Danes is brilliant as Carrie but Damien Lewis is a revelation as Lt. Brody. I was so shocked by how season 1 ended that I’ve been having a hard time figuring out how the story can continue in season 2 … altho this teaser doesn’t really enlighten me in that area, I’m still hella excited to find out. Mark your calendars, y’all, Homeland premieres on Showtime on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 10 p.m. — right after Dexter! Any Homeland fans out there? What do YOU think of this trailer?
